With today’s focus on healthy eating, it’s no wonder food suppliers are becoming more inventive in developing food products to support this trend. Swiss Chalet Fine Foods, a company that has already raised the bar with Haco-Swiss “Nutritionally Balanced” and “Low Sodium” stocks and sauces, has now released a line called “Cuisine Santé.”
“Cuisine Santé is an innovative line of products that complies with the strictest nutritional standards without compromising superior taste,” says Swiss Chalet Corporate Executive Chef Klaus Mueller.
These high-yielding products, which currently include beef-flavored stock, chicken stock, vegetable stock, white roux/base for soups and sauces, demi-glace, au jus, tomato soup, and sweet corn soup, are also vegetarian (except for the chicken stock). Another selling point is that Cuisine Santé products contain no trans fats, hydrogenated fats, gluten, lactose, allergens, unnecessary bulking agents, artificial flavors, or flavor enhancers.
Testimony to their high demand, the products are flying off the shelf, Mueller reports. “We launched the line weeks ago, but mostly due to large orders from spa resorts, universities, and assisted living facilities, we’ve sold out in the U.S. already,” he says, though new shipments are on their way. “People are buying it like crazy.”—ABA
