Banquet and catering tables have a glossy new look with Sophisticate, a multi-purpose table made by SICO Incorporated. The new banquet table surfaces have two options: granite composite (95 percent natural stone and 5 percent polymer) or high-pressure laminate with wood trim, both in a variety of colors. George Goodrich, Red Lion Hotels, says he just purchased 117 of the granite tables as part of a catering upgrade initiative in all of the company-owned hotels.
“What we like about these residential-looking banquet tables is that they have a clean, updated look, and because they look so nice, the labor of skirting is eliminated. We’ve been using them predominantly as our morning coffee break tables, and they create a very upscale, trendy Starbucks look.”
What’s more, the tables are compact and multi-functional. “The greatest part about them is that they have hydraulic assists to make easy folding and unfolding of the table, they have wheels for simple transport from one area to the next, and they nest for storage,” added Goodrich. “Plus, you can use the granite buffet table as a cutting surface, and you don’t have to worry about hot pads—the capability of these things is awesome!”
