High Design Flatware » A Sterling Reputation

Sambonet High Design Flatware Most people don’t get too excited about silverware. But Phil Evans, executive chef at The Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary, North Carolina, isn’t like most people when it comes to Sambonet silver and flatware.

“I absolutely love it,” he says. “It’s the nicest product, and it showcases any table setting well. We use it everywhere, from the buffet line to our private dining rooms. I’m constantly getting in trouble for using it in the kitchen to sauce my dishes. I love the feel of the flatware.”

“My favorite pieces are the bamboo flatware line, the pattern we use for our afternoon tea lounge. The whole line is cool. It has a chic, modern feel to it,” he continues. “And it holds up well, it doesn’t scratch much. It’s easy to maintain, especially when you’re using a lot of it on a daily basis.”

“I also love the design of the Sambonet chafing dishes,” Evans adds. “They’re not stuffy—very sleek and trendy. I love it that the vapor runs into the bottom drip pan of the dish and stays away from the food.”

Founded in 1856 in Vercelli, Italy, Sambonet is a worldwide vendor of chic, heavyweight, and scratch resistant flatware as well as sleek and trendy chafing dishes, cookware, and professional kitchen utensils. Offering both 18/10 stainless steel and silverplated commercial flatware, Sambonet offers premium and highly designed flatware and buffetware. – ADK
