When the Hotel Del Coronado, San Diego, recently
added another high-volume flight dishwasher to
the one they already owned, they again chose a
Jackson flight machine.
Alfonso Espinoza, executive steward, explains
that the overall value and energy efficiency of the
Jackson warewasher originally caught the hotel’s
attention. However, they were also impressed
with Jackson’s ability to create custom warewashing
equipment by specifically sizing the machine
to the Del’s needs.
“Jackson made modifications for our operation
in the final rinse time, added detergent sensors,
and specially designed pegs for the size of our
plates,” notes Espinoza. “The machine also has
safety features I am really excited about, and it’s
so quiet.”
“The overflow is considerably less than with
the older machine and the easy to remove cleanand-
wash arms save time,” he adds.
According to Mary Finke, VP for Jackson (a
subsidiary of Enodis USA) the machine’s benefits
also include a double-wall insulation to keep the
outside surfaces cool and a rackless conveyor that
moves up to 17,101 dishes per hour coupled with
superior water and energy savings.
“Jackson has one of the lowest water usage
rates in the industry. We’ve gone a step further
with a patent pending new nozzle design in our
AJ-44 series that reduces water usage an additional
30 percent. New nozzles also ensure less heat
is needed to achieve 180-degree sanitation, providing
hot water sanitation results with lower utility
costs,” adds Finke.—ABA
