Red Wing Shoe Company has established a new level of commitment to designing durable
and stylish shoes also practical in today’s fast-paced food & beverage operation.
“Given the safety risks of slips and falls, Red Wing developed the WORX StarGrip
safety shoe line, engineered to be both comfortable and slip resistant,” says Jeff
Goodwin, industrial regional sales manager.
According to Goodwin, the StarGrip line was created by utilizing “a sole pattern
designed to channel water, oil and grease from underfoot, while at the same time
creating more surface area by utilizing a “star” pattern for the sole pads.”
In addition to this unique pattern, Red Wing has also incorporated a concave
surface area for each individual pad, which works to create a “suction cup”
effect when the pad comes in contact with the flooring.
“The material compounds used to create the outsole not only lend to the
slip-resistance, but also the comfort and durability factors of the shoes,”
Goodwin adds.
Red Wing has over 4,000 points of retail distribution, 150 mobile units nationwide,
direct-to-industry capabilities, and a soon-to-be launched website for easy ordering.
The company can provide a “StarGrip” slip-resistant footwear purchase program tailored
to meet the demands of the hotel and food & beverage industry.
