Minibar Systems believes that no two hotels are alike in terms of location, infrastructure, guest profile, pricing, and growth potential. According to Walt Strasser, senior VP, Minibar Systems, hotels aside from the Wynn are still interested in traditional minibars, "however most hoteliers want a separate display for snack and/or water sales." The external trays "increase the sales per room in a time when all in-room revenue is being eroded away at a fast pace (i.e., phone and internet revenue)."
Minibar Systems in-room refreshment centers utilize labor-saving minibar technology encompassing both semi-automated and fully automated minibars which track guest access (semi-automated) and guest usage (fully automated) in real time. Says Strasser, "The hotel is notified of access, which assists in reducing labor costs, increasing staff efficiency and results in higher profits for all hotels, especially those in markets with high labor rates."
