Zings™ by Schwan's Food Service makes prepared
appetizers and hors d'oeuvres that zing for hotel
chefs and their customers.
Sean Sims, director of culinary services
for four Bethesda, Maryland, hotel, resort, and club properties,
says Schwan's appetizers give him the variety he craves, when he
needs it, without the commensurate labor. He favors Zings™ consistency
of portion size, flavor, and product safety.
"Zings™ goes from the freezer to the fryer to the table. They are
there when I need them and when I don't need them," Sims says.
"I pay attention to the trends and want unique items," Sims continues.
"I like Z!ngs™ innovation. They take conventional applications
and add new ingredients."
By adding proprietary touches, Sims gives customers taste sensations
unavailable elsewhere. For example, he tosses Zings™ Italian
Sausage and Mozzarella Twisterz™ in a special chopped parsley/
Parmesan mixture, accompanied by his tomato sauce. With Zings™ Kung Pow™ Chicken Egg Roll, Sims adds a spicy peanut sauce.
Sims also is a fan of Schwan's Freschetta™ Pizzas, especially the
four-cheese, Southwest Chicken Supreme, and Supreme, because
they're a hit with hotel employees as well as guests.
He works with the Hilton Pikesville, Hilton Garden Inn, Turf Valley
Resort and Hayfields Country Club.
